Your naturalist guide will meet you at your accommodation and after introductions all around we drive west approximately 200 klms to embark on a remarkable journey back in time of History, spectacular

savannah landscapes, magnificent ancient coral reefs, limestone caves and early mining towns which have many a tale of the mining booms and scandals.

Our first stop is the Mareeba Wetlands for Morning Tea and a 1/2 hour boat tour of this Magnificent Wetlands to view an array of birdlife,  and wildlife.   From here we head over the Great Diving Range out into the Western Water Shed area to the Historic Mining town of Chillagoe, famous for the Copper Mining back at the turn of the century

Once at Chillagoe we take a guided 45 minute tour into another world. As you make your way through the limestone towers that rise above the flat plains of Chillagoe you will be amazed with the fossillised remains of this lost world and the great limestone formations that form this cave system. The is lit by Electricity for amazing sites

Now its time for a wonderful BBQ lunch and scrumptious salads before setting off to explore the old copper smelters and take a step back in time before heading for home.  We also stop at Eureka Creek, for Afternoon Wine and Cheese

Arriving back at Cairns around 6.30pm.
